The "Smörgåstårta" is s savoury cake that's truly one of a kind and only really found in the Nordics. It's similar to a sandwich, but huge like a cake and with large amounts of filling and garnish. The Smörgåstårta is served cold and cut like a dessert cake.
The fillings and toppings vary, egg and mayonnaise are the base; as well as liver paté, radish, skagen, ham, various cold cuts, cucumber, grapes, lemon slices, cheese, smoked salmon, herbs and pomegranate.
